Declaration of Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) 2023, Margosari Village

The 2023 "Desa Cantik" Development Program is a program to increase the competency of village/subdistrict officials in managing and utilizing data in villages/subdistricts so that village/subdistrict development planning is more targeted. The forerunner to this statistical development activity at the village/sub-district level was initiated by several regional BPS. The 2023 Beautiful Village Development Program is a sustainable program. It is hoped that this program will run continuously so that villages have independent capabilities in managing data and statistics.

Margosari Village, Kapanewon Pengasih, Kulon Progo Regency was selected as a Desa Cinta Statistik ("Desa Cantik") in 2023. So this district has become one of 230 "Desa Cantik" in Indonesia.

The Head of BPS DIY, represented in this case by the main expert statistician Sentot Bangun Widoyono, in his speech said that this program is implemented every year. The aim is to increase literacy among sub-district officials and the community, and regarding statistical awareness.

He (Sentot) hopes that villages can become the subject/spearhead of development and not just objects. he said at the launch of "Desa Cantik" in Margosari Village, Wednesday (27/9/2023).

On this occasion, Sentot also declared Margosari Village, Kapanewon Pengasih as a Statistical Love Village in 2023 in Kulon Progo Regency, which was marked by the beating of a gong and the signing of the Beautiful Village charter. The procession was also witnessed by representatives from BAPPEDA Kulon Progo, Representatives of the Kulon Progo Diskominfo, as well as invited guests who attended the event

After the declaration was carried out, the next process was the inauguration of five statistical agents from the Margosari Village carried out by the Margosari Village Head and the signing of an integrity pact by the five statistical agents. Later, these statistical agents will collaborate with the BPS Kulon Progo "Desa Cantik" team during the implementation of "Desa Cantik" development
