Abstract
In February 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province of 0.30 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.33. Gunungkidul Regency was recorded to have experienced y-on-y deflation of 0.66 percent with a CPI of 104.56, while the City of Yogyakarta experienced y-on-y inflation of 0.11 percent with a CPI of 106.26.
Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in some expenditure group indices, namely: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 12.21 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.28 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced an increase in the index were: the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 2.01 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 2.87 percent; the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.91 percent; the health group by 2.10 percent; transportation group by 0.80 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 2.08 percent; education group by 1.36 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.61 percent; and personal care and other services group by 10.14 percent.
