Abstract

The growth of the DIY Human Development Index in 2024 accelerated from the previous year, growing by 0.65 percent compared to the previous year. Growth was supported by an increase in all dimensions that form the Human Development Index, especially a decent standard of living. The dimension of a decent standard of living measured based on the average real expenditure per capita per year (adjusted) increased by 2.93 percent. The average real expenditure per capita of the DIY community increased by 437 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year. The data source for real expenditure per capita per year uses the results of the March 2024 Susenas. The dimensions of longevity and healthy living, as measured by Life Expectancy at Birth (UHH), show that health quality has improved. Babies born in 2024 have a life expectancy of 75.36 years, an increase of 0.18 years compared to those born in the previous year. The UHH data source comes from the results of the Advanced SP2020 (Long Form SP2020). In the knowledge dimension, the Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) of the population aged 7 years and the Average Length of Schooling (RLS) of the population aged 25 years and over in DIY in 2024 increased. HLS increased by 0.04 years compared to the previous year (from 15.66 years to 15.70 years) and RLS increased by 0.09 years (from 9.83 years to 9.92 years). HLS and RLS data are sourced from the results of the March 2024 Susenas.
